Breville Instant Cappuccino Machine Setup Information
I ordered this juicer after reading the Amazon reviews and seeing some complaints about other juicers in Consumer Reports.
I’m delighted with this juicer because it was so easy to start juicing. I opened the box and took out the machine and it’s parts. I washed them and snapped it back together very easily. The way this juicer goes together is one of the most positive aspects. It’s improved the design of many other well known juicers.
After it’s together, you turn it on and then you start putting the veggies and fruits in. Most get sucked into the machine. A few vegetables like broccoli I had to push down with the plunger tool. I was able to put in full stalks of broccoli, big slices of pineapple with the skin and halved pears with no problem. This machine has a very powerful motor. After I made a great mixture, I poured it into a glass with ice and set it aside with a straw.
Would clean up be a chore? It took me three minutes to take the machine apart and clean everything. I had to scoop the almost dry vegetable and fruit mixture out of the container and then rinse it clean. I then took the brush that they provided and scrubbed the tight mesh basket that I removed from the center of the machine. I think it was mostly stained from the broccoli and strawberries. The brushed cleaned the mesh basket easily.
I went and drank the juice. It was delicious.
I read that some people thought that this machine was noisy. It does make noise, but it’s wasn’t annoying.
I am delighted with my purchase and would highly recommend this machine. I am a pretty picky person so the machine has to be good or else I would complain.

I bought my first panini press (the DeLonghi CGH800-U Retro Panini Grill) about six years ago. I have used it often (several times a week in the summer) and enjoy turning “regular” sandwiches into paninis. This Breville press has many of the same features I liked in my older press.
This Breville panini press is sturdy, with the initial quality impression that I expect from Breville. The floating hinge is handy, as I sometimes load the sandwiches thick. The cord wraps around the base and the unit can be stored vertically to save space.
The flat bottom plate is nice, but doesn’t give the classic lines on both sides of the sandwich. I also wish that the temperature were adjustable.
While the manufacturer indicates you can use the bottom (flat) plate for things like pancakes and eggs, I haven’t tried it and don’t intend to. I can envision eggs going everywhere!
Overall, this is a nice panini maker. I knocked off a star for the lack of adjustable temperature, as that’s what keeps it from being ideal.
This is my first Panini press, but I’ve used various non-stick griddles, waffle-makers, etc. The nonstick surface seems to be made of a better quality than other small appliances I’ve used (again: griddles, waffle makers, etc.). True, it does not offer removable plates, but it was so easy to clean. If you were trying to cook something with a batter, it might be messier, but for just sandwiches with some melted cheese to clean up, it’s really easy.
This press has some serious electric pumping through it. Its 1500 watts of power allows it to heat up incredibly quick–about 5 minutes faster than my waffle maker. This may be an issue for someone with older electric in their kitchen without separate circuits for small appliances. But most large presses like this will be around 1500 watts.
Overall, it is well-made. The handle is sturdy, and it’s designed so it can be stored standing up, which is nice. Sometimes storing awkwardly-sized small appliances can be a pain.
Overall, I’m really happy with this grill.
This press is wonderful – it heats up quickly and allows me to create delicious sandwiches. I have probably used it 10 times in the last week since I got it, and it hasn’t disappointed once. I have tried every type of meat and cheese and they are all winners. The flat bottom grill plate is perfect so the sandwiches stay together and the floating top plate allows me to put as much stuffing as I want. I have tried Italian bread, just plain old white bread, wheat and artisan berads and they all worked great. I don’t know what I did without this appliance! I try to put everything away for more counter space, but I am leaving this out because I use it so much! It’s next to the coffee maker! I have a George Forman grill too, but this is far far superior. MUCH easier to clean and the metal parts seem sturdier. We’ll see how it does over the long haul.
This unit is very well-constructed and heats up very rapidly for quick use. It has an adjustable height feature for the top plate, so you can use it both to press or simply heat closed and open face sandwiches. The Quantanium non-stick surface allows for easy wipe up cleaning. Although several folks have expressed a desire for removable plates, I have found that removable plates affect even heat distribution, so I prefer the attached plates.
The unit is very simple to use and cleaning is pretty simple as well, you just wipe the plates with a damp cloth. This unit also stores quite easily given its relatively compact size, and the electrical cord wraps nicely around the base, which is a nice touch. It heats very evenly and quickly, and the non-stick surface removes the need for any cooking spray, oil, or butter, which is always a plus. Be advised that given its size, this press is not designed to prepare multiple entrees at the same time, so if you are looking to turn out several meals at the same time, you may need a larger press. This press is well designed for a family of 2-3 people, although it also works fine for my family of 5, I just cook up our paninis in a few batches.
We returned this. We were very disappointed for a number of reasons. It was far too labor intensive: clean-up took way too much time. It was messy and splattered. And most importantly, after trying a number of recipes, we thought the juices were awful, medicinal-tasting. We’re sticking with Bolthouse Farms juices.
This is the first juicer I have owned so I don’t have anything to compare to but I really love it. It’s so easy to operate and clean. I am able to sneak veggies into my kids drinks and they just think they are drinking some yummy juice! I haven’t actually priced it out but it seems like I’m saving money because I now juice the apples or grapes that got a little mushy that no one will eat. I haven’t done this yet but I really want to make carrot cake with the left overs after I juice them. Highly recommend this to anyone!
This is my first juicer, so I’m not familiar with other comparable or higher-priced machines, but I am pleased with this Breville JE900 and think it’s an excellent product for “new juicing enthusiasts.” It’s fairly easy to clean. Everything that needs washing comes apart from the main body of the juicer and can be easily hand washed or placed in the dishwasher. I suggest placing a small plastic grocery bag in the pulp container as a liner before juicing for easier clean up. The machine itself has a pretty strong motor and extracts a fair amount of juice from each piece of produce. I can make a nice glass of juice using just 2 apples, 2 carrots and a beet. The motor is fairly loud, but not bad considering the work it’s doing. The machine is fast and seems to be of high quality. I got mine for $99 and free shipping, so I’m thrilled with the deal I got. I think it’s worth up to about $130 — but I wouldn’t pay any more than that.
I got the JE900 from my local Costco thinking it would be similar to my sister’s Breville BJE200XL juicer. They are similar juicers, however the BJE200XL is better and is a very similar price. For a start, the BJE200XL is Breville’s successor to the JE900. The BJE has fewer parts and therefore is easier and faster to clean. Also my JE900 had a very tiny leak on the left side where, when it was juicing, it would occasionally spit out tiny bits of pulp towards me. I promptly returned it and am going with the BJE200XL which is a newer and better model. The JE900 isn’t bad, but since the price is similar…
